Bathrooms

06:53

Some time in the first quarter of 2012, we turned over a penthouse unit in Park Tower I, one of the pioneer condominium buildings in Cebu City.  It was a renovation project.  Not until I revisited the unit today was I reminded of how pretty some of the bathrooms actually turned out to be! :-)

White, grey and silver set the tone for this guest bathroom.

A printed tile on one side is used to
break the monotony of the plain
white tiles.  The same tile is also applied
inside the niche for the toiletries.

The floating vanity cabinet was done by Anything Timber.
Textured tile in a geometric pattern is placed on the corner
to mark the space for the toilet.  All bathroom fixtures
used are Kohler.

The Master Bath: Mosaic tiles go all around the floating mirror that light up on the sides.

Master Bath: Opposite the toilet and vanity is the bath tub with shower.  Long, rectangular, plain white tiles from Italy were used to line the tub.  A niche carved out for toiletries have become a standard in our bathroom designs.  The full length mirror on the center of the bathroom makes the space look bigger.
The Guest Bath 2: to maximize storage space, cantilevered ledges in solid wood were installed above the toilet.  The wall tiles go halfway only but are flushed with the concrete to give that seamless look.  To keep this bathroom timeless in design, I opted to use plain-colored tiles.  Just like in the master bath, a floating mirror juts out from the wall with concealed lights all around.
My favorite, the powder room!
The best part about this design is it hardly uses any tiles at all!  Notice how the lighter-colored tile was used to line the baseboard which serves as a good termination from the wall to the floor.  The tiles are flushed on the concrete giving the wall a seamless look.  The Chinese print on the wall above the toilet complements the printed wallpaper with tiny red cherries.  Bathroom fixtures used are all Kohler.  The vessel-type lavatory sits on a solid-piece of wood in natural wood stain finish.
